Ride from Marrakech over the Tizi N’Tichka-Pass and get an insight into the way people have traditionally lived in the area with some roadside chatter. Visit a cooperative run by women in the Atlas Mountains where the famous argan oil is produced by hand and organic delicacies and beauty products are sold.
Just before Ouarzazate, the gateway to the desert, enjoy the unique opportunity to visit the Ait-Ben-Haddou. This small old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is constantly used as a location for Hollywood movies. Follow your guide on a 1 hour walking tour and hear about the traditional life there.
Stop for lunch at a local restaurant with a panoramic terrace in a new part of Aït-Ben-Haddou and continue through the stunning landscape of Telouet. This fortress was occupied by Thami el Glaoui before being expelled by the independence efforts. One of the sections has unfortunately disintegrated into red sand, but you can still visit the beautiful rooms with mosaics and wood carvings. Cross the High Atlas Mountains for a break for tea and coffee and return to your accommodation in Marrakech around 19:00.
